Hazel McCallion is a 101-year-old woman with good experience in the Canadian transport industry. And recently, she renewed her employment contract with the Greater Toronto Airport Authority for another three years.
McCallion will continue as a director on the board of directors of the Greater Toronto Airport Authority, which manages Toronto-Pearson International Airport. Only in this area the woman has almost 8 years of experience.
“I am pleased that Ms. McCallion has agreed to continue serving the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. She has dedicated over 40 years of service to her community and continues to play an important role in overseeing and guiding Canada's largest airport.“, the Minister of Transport of the country, Omar Alghabra, in a statement.
In addition to her experience in airport management, McCallion was mayor of Mississauga, the city where Toronto Pearson Airport is located. McCallion held several city offices before running for mayor of Mississauga in 1978. Her withdrawal from that office was in 2014, when she was 93 years old.
She has also served as an advisor at the University of Toronto-Mississauga since late March of this year.
