1st FAB flight with Brazilian citizens repatriated from Israel arrives in Brazil

The first Brazilian Air Force (FAB) flight with the first Brazilian citizens rescued from Israel landed in the early hours of this Wednesday (11). The aircraft, an Airbus A330 (KC-30) arrived in Capital Federal at around 4:11 am.

On board were 211 engers coming on a direct flight from Tel Aviv to Brasília, of which another 104 engers went to Rio de Janeiro on FAB's own planes. For the 'Returning in Peace' operation, another five flights will be carried out until Sunday, operated with the Airbus A330 and the KC-390.

According to an estimate by Itamaraty, around 2,7 people in Israel requested to return to Brazil, the vast majority of whom were Brazilian citizens on a tourist trip when the attacks occurred. At first, the government prioritized the return of citizens who reside in Brazil and were unable to return due to the cancellations of commercial flights in Tel Aviv.

This is the largest repatriation operation ever carried out by the FAB, which has carried out similar operations in countries such as Turkey, Ukraine, China and Bolivia in recent years.

The third flight to be carried out with the KC-390 multi-mission aircraft is scheduled to take off in the early afternoon of Thursday (12). Due to its flight capacity, the plane is expected to make stops in Lisbon and Recife before arriving at Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo on Friday (13).

The fourth flight is scheduled to take off from Israel in the early afternoon of Friday, operated by the Airbus A330, arriving in Rio de Janeiro on the evening of the same day. The fifth flight will also be operated by KC-30 on Saturday, taking off from Tel Aviv and arriving at Galeão on the same day. For now, there is no detail on other FAB repatriation flights.
