2017 will see production cuts for the Learjet 75, says Bombardier

After a low year in the first nine months of 2016, Bombardier managed to close last year with more than 11 deliveries of the Learjet 75.

But for this year 2017 there will be some cuts in the production of the Learjet 75, according to the company. But the Canadian manufacturer did not report the exact numbers. In December, the manufacturer showed the records for that year of 2017, which included 150 global deliveries of its executive aircraft, including the Learjet, Challenger and Global models, which are the company's main ones.

But it will not be like that, after a review, a drop in orders was announced in February, before 150 deliveries were expected, now it is at 135. The manufacturer blames the reduction “mainly” of a readjusted production rate for the Learjet 75.

Any form of production reduction makes assembly operations even more precarious. In addition, the Learjet 75 is the only aircraft manufactured at the company's plant in Wichita, Kansas in the USA. This is due to the termination of Learjet 60 XR deliveries in 2015, as well as the cancellation of the Learjet 85 program in 2016.

On the other hand, for more than seven years, the Phenom 300 by Brazilian Embraer has led the world market in of delivery, a place previously occupied by the Canadian Learjet 75. Embraer also produces the Phenom 300 at its factory in the United States, in addition to producing the aircraft in São José dos Campos.
