Developed to compete directly in the duopoly of Airbus e Boeing, Comac C919 completed the first type certification process (STC) necessary for the plane to start series production and fly regularly with engers.
The C919 program, which began in mid-2008, aims to make China one of the main aerospace players, moving from a country that only manufactures technology and products from other countries to a technological player.
With the enormous challenge to face the Boeing 737 Max and Airbus A320neo, the Comac C919 will initially be marketed only to operators in China, the first certificate of three having been issued by the Civil Aviation istration of China (CAAC).

Now, ever closer to starting series production, the C919 has so far ordered 815 aircraft from 29 customers, an expressive mark that meets China's desire to become the largest aviation market in the world.
The C919 has a range of 4.075 kilometers and can carry up to 168 engers depending on the configuration, Comac bets on the C919 for the domestic market, however, there is a possibility that the plane will face problems in its manufacture, and important parts of the project are of foreign origin, running the risk of suffering sanctions from the United States and the European Union.

Despite optimism on the part of China for the certification of the native production aircraft, the C919 may face difficulties for certification by the FAA and EASA, a similar situation with the ARJ21, an aircraft aimed at the regional and domestic market in China.
