In view of the recent announcement by the Chilean government to close the country's borders to foreigners for 14 days, as of Wednesday, March 18, SKY activated its enger protection plan, with the aim of being able to guarantee greater flexibility to those affected .
Likewise, only Chilean engers or those with permanent residence in the country and coming from high-risk locations can enter Chile, subject to Sanitary Customs and a mandatory 14-day quarantine. In this context, the airline also warns all foreign engers not to go to the airport or travel, given the border restriction measures recently announced by the Chilean government authorities.
For all these reasons, SKY has made the change policy more flexible for all affected engers with confirmed reservations by March 31st. Those who suffered any cancellation of their flight will be able to change the date, without penalty or fare difference, to fly until November 30th. The modification can be requested at any time, even after the travel date.
Changing route or destination will also be allowed, without penalty and paying the fare difference to fly also until November 30th. This modification can be requested at any time, even after the travel date.
In the case of engers with flights that were not cancelled, they will be allowed to change the date, destination or route, without penalty and paying the fare difference to fly until November 30th. Also, the change can be made after the flight date.
For all engers that the country's authorities indicate that they cannot enter because they are foreigners, the policy for engers with a non-cancelled flight will be applied.
SKY asks engers to prioritize the use of the form available on the website www.skyairline.com to make requests, as the Center is experiencing a high flow of calls due to the current contingency.
“We are making every effort to affected engers, but the situation is quite critical, so everyone's collaboration and flexibility is very important,” emphasized the commercial director of SKY, Carmen Gloria Serrat.
The airline highlighted that it has activated each of the protocols recommended by the Ministry of Health and that it is in permanent coordination with the actors involved, such as the DGAC and the airport, to guarantee the well-being and safety of its workers and engers.
