The Dreamliner will fly six times a week from Frankfurt to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Texas. Lufthansa will offer four weekly flights to Montreal (YUL) in Canada and will increase on May 1 to daily flights. Also in early May, Lufthansa will fly its Dreamliner daily to Denver (DEN), Colorado, three times a week to Austin (AUS), Texas and on February 13th it will begin serving Detroit (DTW), Michigan. And since last October the Dreamliner flies daily to Newark (EWR).

Currently, Lufthansa operates three Boeing 787-9. Two additional will be delivered soon. The Boeing 787-9 offers engers a comfortable cabin experience by being quieter and, depending on the time of day, illuminated by an innovative lighting system. As a result, the enger has a pleasant feeling of more space and the large windows offer the opportunity for a better view, which can be darkened at the touch of a button. Business Class engers enjoy upgraded seats with, among other things, direct aisle access.

The long-haul Dreamliner is one of the aircraft in Lufthansa's long-haul fleet with the highest operating economy. On average, it consumes 2,5 liters of kerosene per enger for every 100 kilometers flown, or 30% less than previous generation aircraft. By 2027, the Lufthansa Group will take delivery of a total of 32 Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
