In exactly 10 days, São Gonçalo do Amarante Airport (ASGA), which serves the city of Natal (RN) and region, will go up for auction. After amicable return to the Union, this will be the first rebid for an asset granted to private exploitation in the country. The event is scheduled for Friday, May 19, starting at 10 am, at the headquarters of B3, in São Paulo.
Located in the municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante, ASGA is 18 kilometers from the Port of Natal and 30 kilometers from the center of the Potiguar capital, in addition to being close to roads that connect to other capitals in the Northeast, such as João Pessoa (PB) and Recife PE). With the capacity to receive six million engers per year, the airport was the first in Brazil to be granted to the private sector, in 2011. The new concession contract will last for 30 years.

Completed steps
ASGA was qualified under the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI) in August 2020, through the Decree No. 10.472 / 2020 (Click on the link to access). With the signature of the Additive Term of the rebidding, the contractual relations between the granting authority and the current concessionaire were established until the transfer of the asset to the new concessionaire.
In March 2021, ANAC approved the Public Consultation No. 2/2021 (click on the link to access), which received contributions related to the draft public notice, the concession contract and the Technical, Economic and Environmental Feasibility Studies (EVTEAs) of ASGA. In April of that year, a virtual public hearing was held for the participation of interested parties in the auction.
