KAYAK survey analyzed the most popular destinations for the next vacation and prices in relation to 2019
Taking the plane and traveling has become cheaper this year. According to the new survey of KAYAK, the travel metasearch engine, the average price of airline tickets for the next summer vacation is cheaper compared to 2019. Among the highlights of drops in the average price of flights in the last two years are Cancun (Mexico), with -48% , and Salvador, with -33%.
The KAYAK survey took into the most sought-after national and international destinations within the platform in the first half of 2021 and compared the average prices of air tickets (round trip) to these same destinations in the first half of 2019.
If the traveler had his eye on flying to , which recently announced the reopening for tourism by vaccinated Brazilians, now might be a good time to buy tickets to Paris. The plane ticket to the City of Light was up to 29% cheaper in two years.
Another major highlight of the international data is the presence of Orlando, New York and Miami among the 10 most sought after international destinations in the first half of 2021.
Despite airfares to the three destinations in the United States ing a drop in prices (Orlando with -44%, New York with -35% and Miami with -30%), it is worth mentioning that the North American borders remain closed to tourists who fly directly from Brazil.
On Brazilian soil, tourists who are more interested in traveling domestically can also save on airline tickets.
According to KAYAK, taking the plane and enjoying the beaches of Bahia was up to 33% cheaper in the first half of 2021, compared to the same period in 2019. Rio de Janeiro (-28%), Recife (-23%) and Natal (-23% ) also stood out in of value reduction.

Research methodology
Survey carried out based on searches made by KAYAK s between 01/01/2019 and 31/07/2019 in relation to 01/01/2021 and 31/07/2021, for trips in December 2021 and January 2022.
Data for international destinations are based on departures from airports in São Paulo and national data are based on departures from any terminal in Brazil.
