Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker has been honored by the Airline enger Experience Association (APEX) as the recipient of the CEO Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes industry leaders for their dedication, efforts and commitment to improving the enger experience. The APEX/IFSA (International Flight Services Association) Awards Ceremony took place at the APEX/IFSA Global EXPO in Long Beach, California, on September 20, where Al Baker also received three awards on behalf of the airline.
APEX is one of the largest international airline associations in the world. This global non-profit organization seeks to boost the enger experience with the of leading airlines and in conjunction with the International Flight Services Association and Future Travel Experience.
The APEX CEO Lifetime Achievement Award has only been given six times in the organization's five-decade history, including this most recent one, received by Al Baker. Recognition is awarded very selectively to industry leaders and visionaries who inspire progress across the aviation landscape while elevating their brands.
Based on votes from certified engers, Qatar Airways also received three other APEX awards, solidifying the airline's status as one of the world's leading airlines: APEX World Class 2024 Award, APEX Award for Best Inflight Entertainment in the Middle East and the APEX Global for Best Inflight Food and Drink.
