LATAM Brasil has just been confirmed as the leader in revenue in domestic air transport in the corporate segment in 2023 with a 34,4% market share, according to data from Abracorp (Brazilian Association of Corporate Travel Agencies) released this Tuesday ( January 23rd). The airline takes the lead in the corporate travel ranking, gaining even greater traction in the last quarter of 2023, when it obtained 38,7% of revenue from this market in the country.
With 38% of the entire Brazilian market, LATAM ended 2023 as the leader of the Brazilian airline sector, according to ANAC. Currently, the company operates the largest airline network in its history in Brazil, with flights to more than 50 airports in the country. In 2023, LATAM transported 33 million engers transported in Brazil, exceeding 2022 by 15%. From January to December this year, LATAM in Brazil achieved an 11% growth in its domestic enger demand measured in RPK¹ and expanded its domestic seat supply measured in ASK¹ by 9,5% compared to the same period in 2022 .
Regarding international flights, LATAM is the airline that transports the most tourists to Brazil, with its own flights from 90 airports abroad. In November, LATAM and Embratur signed an agreement technical cooperation to promote the country internationally.
CONSTANT IMPROVEMENTS IN CORPORATE SERVICE
LATAM has invested heavily in products to improve the experience of its corporate customers. Today, it offers Wi-Fi on more than 95% of its aircraft on domestic flights in Brazil, has a menu on board international flights that values the talent of young Brazilian chefs, in addition to continuing to recognize the loyalty of its customers through LATAM benefits.
One example is the exclusive experience for corporate customers in the Black Signature category of the loyalty program, available since the beginning of December at Congonhas airport, in partnership with Audi do Brasil. In an unprecedented initiative in South America, LATAM offers remote boarding and disembarking with Audi electric vehicles for the airline's most loyal engers, providing a travel experience with more exclusivity, sustainability and comfort. The five 100% electric Audi e-trons are available for operations at gates 13 to 22 throughout the week, from 6am to 23pm, with the assistance of an employee from the LATAM Special Services team. Each vehicle transports up to 3 engers. Since the beginning of 2023, the service for these customers has been carried out by executive vans.
Corporate customers can also enjoy the Economy cabin, where the central seat is blocked to ensure more privacy and comfort. This cabin offers eight seats in the first rows of Airbus A320 family aircraft – on some domestic routes there may be an additional row. They are ergonomic seats with adjustable headrests, ample legroom (between 10 and 15 centimeters more between the seats), backrests with an additional recline of up to 9 centimeters. The Economy cabin also has differentiated onboard service and exclusive space for hand luggage.
LATAM’S PROSPECTS IN BRAZIL IN 2024
In December 2023, LATAM reached the milestone of 8 new aircraft received in Brazil in the space of a month. The feat reinforces the company's commitment to expanding Brazilians' access to aviation. Still in 2023, 15 of the 17 new planes received directly from the factory by the LATAM group were directed to its Brazilian operation, which this year should grow from 7% to 9%. For 2024, in fact, LATAM has already announced 4 measures to universalize aviation in Brazil, including the addition of 10 thousand daily seats to its operation in the country.
Since 2021, LATAM has been the leading airline in Brazil's domestic and international market, according to ANAC. The index measured in RPK¹ considers the number of engers per kilometer transported by the company over the volume of engers per kilometer transported by all airlines operating in Brazil.
¹ RPK: enger Kilometers Carried.
