On January 24th and 25th, 2022, the skies over the Paraná cities of Guaíra, Telêmaco Borba, Umuarama and União da Vitória received Azul flights for the first time. Today, two years after the start of operations at these bases in the interior of Paraná, the company celebrates the results in a strategic region for its network.
From the date of the inaugural flights until December 2023, Azul has already operated 1428 flights, transporting more than 4635 Customers, aboard Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft, between takeoffs and landings, in the four cities of Paraná. These bases connect daily with Curitiba International Airport, the main hub in the state. And it is in the capital of Paraná that Azul Customers can take direct flights to the 19 destinations offered by the company in Curitiba, including the international route to Montevideo, Uruguay.
Beatriz Barbi, Azul's Network Planning Manager, gives a positive assessment of the company's operations in the interior of Paraná and highlights the company's vocation for developing regional aviation in the country. “One of Azul’s main business focuses is expanding air transport for an increasing number of Customers in Brazil. It is gratifying to see how our flights have positively impacted the local economy and facilitated leisure and work travel, reducing distances. The decision to start operations in Guaíra, Telêmaco Borba, Umuarama and União da Vitória was, without a doubt, the right one, and we are very happy with the results”, highlights Beatriz.
