After Azul launched a campaign on social networks, entitled #AzulnaPonteAerea, for the company to gain popular strength in its attempt to enter the most profitable route in the country, the president of Azul, John Rodgerson, explained more about the subject, during the premiere of a flight between Campinas and Porto (Portugal).
In an interview with journalists John Rodgerson said:
“The end of Avianca Brasil is sad for more than five thousand workers who will be unemployed, for consumers and for the airline industry. We never wanted this outcome, our intention was to preserve the company and jobs. But unfortunately, we didn't win. Our competitors paid to close Avianca Brasil”
“It is not fair what they are doing to us. We fly to 106 cities in Brazil, use Brazilian planes and are well known for our product and service. Why can't we fly between Congonhas and Santos Dumont?”
“Competition is a good thing for customers, but Gol and Latam didn't want ours because they know we have the best product. They are afraid of it. I hope that Cade and Anac see that everything that was done by them and do the right thing”
Notably indignant at the fact that the company was unable to expand its operations in Congonhas and Santos Dumont, John Rodgerson also had the presence of Azul founder David Neeleman at the event. which celebrated the debut of the company's new international destination.
