Galeão now has seasonal flights to Paraguay

The international airport of Galleon During the month of January, there will be one more international call available connecting Rio de Janeiro with Paraguay. Paranair (ex-Amazzonas Paraguay) has scheduled 6 flights so far, and these operations will be in partnership with the LATAM Group (codeshare).

Therefore, between the 06th and the 23rd of January, Paranair will operate at the Rio de Janeiro terminal on Thursdays and Sundays. Flight ZP830 will depart Asunción (ASU) at 7 am (local time), with an expected arrival in Rio de Janeiro (GIG) at 09:40 am.

For the opposite route, takeoff will take place on the same day, with departure from Galeão scheduled to take place at 10:50 am, with arrival in the Paraguayan capital at 13:30 pm (local time).

More international flights in Galeão

With the resumption of the international air network, Galeão airport reopened, on the last December 8th, the South Pier, an expansion of the terminal inaugurated in 2016 for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Closed since April 2020 due to the pandemic, the area has more than 10 m², which includes 26 boarding bridges for the arrival and departure of international flights.

The proposal is to promote a better experience for engers during the high season, when the flow of engers is greater. For the month of December, Galeão International Airport is expected to handle more than 506 domestic engers and 128 foreigners.

Flights from the airline already operate in Galeão. KLMAir  e TAP, connecting Rio de Janeiro directly to European destinations. In November, the American Airlines expanded its operation to Miami, from three weekly flights to daily flights and, as of December 17, added the Rio-New York seasonal route. Already the United Airlines, resumed its operation from Tom Jobim International Airport to the city of Houston with three weekly operations, as well as the British Airways, with four weekly flights connecting Rio and London; and the German company Lufthansa, with three weekly flights to Frankfurt until mid-March.
