Yemen attacked Saudi Arabia again this Sunday (20), this time destroying part of some Aramco facilities, with Yanbu and Yasref facilities being hit by the attack.

According to some data provided by the Saudi government, two drones from Yemen participated in the attacks on the refineries. There are suspicions of involvement of Houthi rebels from Yemen in this situation, meanwhile, the group confirmed the attack.

The attack took place with nine drones in total, according to information from the Saudi Ministry of Defense, but many were intercepted before attacking the targets.

Aramco has already declared that it will have a slight temporary reduction in the production of barrels of oil. In the long term, the company announced on Sunday that it plans to increase production to meet the demand of the international market, after the sanctions against Russia. Saudi Arabia is the biggest oil exporter in the world.

The conflict between the two countries has been going on for several years, with few separate attacks carried out by the two sides. As a result, Saudi Arabia has in recent years been strengthening its military power by buying more weapons from the United States, and Israel, as in the case of the last agreements reached in 2020 and 2021.

In March 2021 a Houthi drone damaged an A320 civilian in an attack on Abha International Airport in southern Saudi Arabia.
