With just one flight to Europe via Lisbon, Brasília Airport could gain another connection to the old continent.
According to information from GPS Brasilia, the Italian ambassador to Brazil, Alessandro Cortese, met last Wednesday (10) with the minister of tourism, Celso Sabino and the secretary of International Relations of the Federal District, Paco Britto.
The meeting served to discuss the possibility of increasing the flow of flights between Brazil and Italy, including the opening of new routes, with the possibility of a flight between Brasília and Rome.
“There is a possibility, yes. We are working with the embassy to open this route, mainly due to the high demand. The idea is for the GDF to provide a commercial incentive, such as stop-over possibilities, to carry out these flights”, declared Paco Britto to GPS Brasília.
Currently, only Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo have direct flights to Italy via Milan, operated by ITA Airways and LATAM Brasil.
