Socicam airport business management

In addition to the commitment to promoting safe and efficient air operations, Zona da Mata Airport integrated the production of work of national relevance for aviation. Represented by its Operational Security manager, Robson Alvim, the concessionaire that manages the project participated in the preparation of the “External Aviation Risk Guidance”, which addresses the dangers related to the use of drones, balloons, kites and lasers in airport areas and their nearby.

The document, which provides security guidelines for national aviation, was produced by BAIST (Brazilian Group for Airport Infrastructure Operational Security), a working committee created by ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency) and composed of national airport operators and government organizations.

For Robson Alvim, the material strengthens the formation of an operational safety culture in Brazil. “By addressing the potential threats that kites, balloons, drones and laser beams can pose to air operations, we seek to not only propose useful measures to airport operators, but also bring this awareness to communities around airports, highlighting the dangers of items that could be considered harmless”, he highlights.

Robson also exemplifies the consequences of using these elements near airports. “According to data from CENIPA, the improper use of laser beam tips or pens can disorient pilots, causing glare and compromising the operation”, he highlights.

To Alexander Cerqueira, Director of Airports at Socicam, The participation of Zona da Mata Airport in the preparation of such a relevant document for national aviation reaffirms Socicam's commitment to service excellence in the segment. ” Contributing to the production of this guide is a great satisfaction and reflects our commitment to the safety of airport operations. The guidelines consolidated in this guide can be applied not only in the 24 airports under our management, but in many others across the country”, he states.
