Cessna announces improvements to Caravan cockpit

A Textron Aviation announced today (July 22) significant improvements to its Cessna Caravan and Cessna Grand Caravan EX turboprop aircraft. One flight deck brighter and more contemporary, equipped with new backlit s and various amenities designed to improve the pilot's experience, it appears as the result of a constant dialogue with customers. These improvements, scheduled for 2025, will be standard on all new Caravan and Grand Caravan EX aircraft.

Among the most visible changes to the aircraft are the new black dashboard s. cockpit, which provide a more current design. The Caravan model will also feature electroluminescent lighting s, similar to those found on the Grand Caravan EX models, offering additional light for better visibility in low light conditions.

Other improvements to the Cessna Caravan and Grand Caravan EX are:

– A wider boarding ladder to facilitate access to the captain’s side of the aircraft;

– Four circular, adjustable air nozzles to replace the previous two rectangular air outlets of the cockpit;

– Two USB-C charging ports to replace the 12V power adapter on the lower center pedestal of the cockpit;

– Two USB-C charging ports on the right sub for the co-pilot;

– Standard power headphone jacks (LEMO plugs) alongside existing general aviation plugs, offering operators greater flexibility in powering active noise canceling headphones;

– Headphone hooks under the car’s windshield cockpit.

The Cessna Caravan and Grand Caravan EX are highly versatile and functional models designed to meet a wide range of missions around the globe. The Caravan family has been synonymous with global reliability for almost four decades.
