The Brazilian Air Force (FAB), through the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA), reported that the instability of GPS signal reception by aircraft operating at Guarulhos airport, on takeoffs from runway 10L, affected the capacity of the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) of these aircraft.
The causes of the problem are being investigated by the concessionaire that manages Guarulhos Airport, with the of DECEA. An aircraft from the Special Flight Inspection Group (GEIV) was called in to carry out a radio monitoring inspection around the airfield, with the aim of investigating the causes of the problem.
DECEA also informs that it has alternative procedures to the navigation system, allowing landings and takeoffs to continue without interruptions.
Due to the incident, the air traffic flow was monitored and coordinated by the Air Navigation Management Center (CGNA), an organization subordinate to DECEA, to reduce the impacts caused to air operations.
Finally, it should be noted that air operations in the region are currently operating normally.
