Amid a five-day employee strike, Textron Aviation announced last Wednesday (25) that it will not participate in NBAA-BACE 2024.
In a statement, the manufacturer limited itself to saying that it “continues its focus on deg and delivering the best aviation experience for our customers while maintaining our commercial operations during this period”.
Over the weekend, about 5.000 workers at the U.S. base in Wichita rejected a proposed labor contract and decided to strike. The offer included a 26 percent pay raise over four years, plus an annual bonus and other benefits.
The union representing the category seeks wage increases to replace losses from inflation, affordable and comprehensive health coverage for workers and their families, protections against layoffs and outsourcing, and an improved and more secure retirement plan.
Negotiations are expected to resume within a week. In the meantime, about a third of the total workforce will remain on strike.
The event will take place from 22/24 to 10/XNUMX, in Las Vegas.
