A Avianca is expected to add a flight from Medellín, Colombia, to Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo. The new flight is scheduled to begin on December 3 and tickets are already on sale on the company's website. The news was confirmed during the Abav Expo 2024 event in Brasília.
Initially, the flight will be seasonal until March 2025, to take advantage of the high season. Operations will take place with the Airbus A320 neo on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays departing from Guarulhos. Check out the flight details below:
Route: Medellin (MDE) – Sao Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU): takes off at 14:45 pm (local time), arriving the next day in Guarulhos at around 01:55 am.
Route: Sao Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU) – Medellin (MDE): takes off from Guarulhos at 03:00, arriving in Medellín at 06:59 (local time).
Although the flight will be operated with a single-aisle aircraft (A320neo), Avianca announced that the operation between Medellín and São Paulo will feature its renewed Business Class service. This product includes a main meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner), drinks, a snack service and comfort items (blanket, pillow and Amenity Kit). seats are located in the first 3 rows of the plane and feature reclining seats and headrests.
Finally, the new flight addition further strengthens ties between Colombia and Brazil, bringing benefits to the tourism and business sectors. Avianca currently operates flights from Bogotá to Guarulhos/São Paulo (GRU), Galeão/Rio de Janeiro (GIG) and Manaus (MAO).
