A US bomb exploded last Wednesday (2) at Miyazaki Airport (KMI), in southwestern Japan, canceling around 80 flights.
According to information from Portal aerotime, the bomb exploded spontaneously near an aircraft that had just taken off. A video posted on social media shows the moment of the explosion, there were no injuries.

Japanese authorities also reported that Miyazaki airport was built in 1943, the same place that once housed a training center for the Imperial Japanese Navy, where young aviators set off on 'kamikaze' flights, being targeted by tons of bombs from the United States during World War II.
The explosion was so strong that parts of the asphalt and other debris were scattered over a radius of 200 meters, indicating that it was a 250 kg bomb. After the event, the airport was closed and all flights for the day were canceled.
Interestingly, Japan still houses tons of unexploded bombs buried in the ground, requiring special care when constructing houses and buildings depending on the region.
