Azul will have a new route between Guarulhos International Airport and Ilhéus, on the southern coast of Bahia, for the 2024/2025 summer high season. The connection will begin operating on December 16, 2024 and will continue until February 2, 2025, with daily flights.
The outbound flights will depart from Guarulhos at 14:35 p.m., landing in the city of Bahia at 16:40 p.m. The return flight is scheduled to depart from Ilhéus at 17:15 p.m., arriving at Guarulhos Airport at 19:20 p.m. The operations will be carried out using the modern Airbus A320 aircraft, which has the capacity to transport 174 engers.
High season in Bahia
In addition to the new route between Guarulhos and Ilhéus, Azul is strengthening its presence in the state of Bahia with additional daily flights connecting Ilhéus to other important hubs of the company, such as Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo, and Confins, in Minas Gerais. Ilhéus will also continue to have regular flights to Salvador, the capital of Bahia.
In total, from December 16, 2024 to February 2, 2025, Azul will operate more than 3 additional flights throughout Brazil, with 38% of these operations concentrated in the Northeast region. There will be more than 1.159 additional flights to Bahia, offering tourists and local residents greater connectivity and convenience. Porto Seguro stands out as one of the most sought-after destinations by Azul Customers during the summer, ranking among the five busiest in of number of flights during this period.
With the new routes and extra high season flights, Azul estimates a 24% increase in its operations in the state of Bahia, compared to the current volume, reaching an average of 37 daily flights in January 2025.
