“Embraer is thrilled to return to AeroIndia to showcase the KC-390 Millennium and our broad portfolio of defense and security solutions for the industry,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO, Embraer Defense & Security. “This aircraft is expanding its global operator base and impressing the industry with its capabilities, which reflect the versatility and reliability for which our aircraft are known. The Embraer team and its partners will be at AeroIndia working hard to India’s aviation and defense objectives.”

Embraer will showcase the exceptional versatility and performance of the KC-390. The aircraft has proven its capability, reliability and performance in a variety of missions. Carrying more payload (26 tons) compared to other medium-sized military transport aircraft and flying faster (470 knots) and further, the KC-390, which is configured with aerial refueling equipment, is capable of performing a wide range of missions, such as cargo and troop transport and airdrop, aeromedical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting and humanitarian missions, operating from temporary or unpaved runways, such as dirt, soil and gravel. The aircraft has already proven its aerial refueling capabilities both as a tanker and as a receiver, in this case receiving fuel from another KC-390 using pods installed under the wings.

Since entering into operation with the Brazilian Air Force in 2019, with the Portuguese Air Force in 2023 and, most recently, with the Hungarian Air Force in 2024, the aircraft has demonstrated a mission capability rate of 93%, with a mission completion rate above 99%, and with the current fleet of aircraft in operation accumulating more than 16.300 flight hours, demonstrating exceptional productivity in the category.

In addition to Brazil, Portugal and Hungary, the Netherlands also announced its selection of the Millennium in 2022. In 2023, Austria, the Czech Republic and South Korea also selected the KC-390, confirming the success of this revolutionary platform. In 2024, Sweden, Slovakia and an undisclosed customer also opted for the KC-390.

Embraer has over 40 aircraft and 11 types operating in India across defense, commercial aviation and business jets, reflecting the diversity of Embraer’s portfolio in the country. This includes the Legacy 600 aircraft used for transporting government officials and VIPs by the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Border Security Force (BSF), and the Embraer ERJ145-based ‘Netra’ AEW&C aircraft operated by the IAF. Star Air, one of the country’s largest regional airlines, is an all-Embraer operation with E175 and ERJ145 models in its fleet.
