Solojet Aviação announces the first installation of a Tamarack winglet on a Cessna 525 CitationJet in Brazil. The service was performed at the company's hangar in Jundiaí, São Paulo. Last year, the company announced the resumption of its partnership with Tamarack, a North American company that develops and produces winglets for executive jets. With this, Solojet became a certified installation unit.
Winglets are common on commercial and some executive aviation aircraft. They are devices installed on the wingtips that improve the aircraft's performance and efficiency, helping significantly with fuel economy and range. A jet with this equipment can save up to 15% of fuel. It also increases stability, providing a smoother flight for engers and crew.
“The resumption of the partnership comes at a good time, as executive aviation is experiencing a positive moment, with high demand for flights and a constant search for improvements in performance and efficiency,” said André Bernstein, CEO of Solojet Aviação.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with Solojet on this first installation. Brazil is quickly becoming one of the most important regions for Cessna Citation jet operations, and we are focused on bringing the performance, payload and safety benefits of Active Winglets to more operators across the country,” said James Urquhart, Director of Sales at Tamarack.
With a continental size, limited alternative airports and a growing agricultural sector that relies heavily on business aviation, Brazil is an ideal environment for the advantages offered by Tamarack’s technology. Aircraft equipped with Active Winglets climb faster, fly further and carry more – exactly what Brazilian operators need for reliable and efficient operations.
Active Winglets are available for installation on Cessna Citation Jet CJ1, CJ1+, CJ2, CJ2+, CJ3, CJ3+, M2 and M2 Gen2 family aircraft. The parts, certified by the US (FAA) and European (EASA) aeronautical authorities, are also approved in Brazil and installed exclusively by Solojet. Tamarack has already updated almost 10% of the CitationJet fleet worldwide.
