The Cargo Terminal (TECA) at Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas (SP), received between Monday night and Tuesday afternoon (29/04) two aircraft with equipment for the show by singer Lady Gaga, scheduled to take place on May 3 at Copacabana Beach, in Rio de Janeiro.
Even though it is located almost 500 kilometers away from the capital of Rio de Janeiro, Viracopos was chosen to carry out the operation because of its infrastructure and expertise in processing large volumes of cargo for mega events.
The combined cargo from both flights resulted in 41 pallets being unloaded, totaling approximately 70 tons of equipment. After unloading, the equipment was immediately released by the Federal Revenue Service Customs for ground transportation. A third aircraft carrying the equipment is expected to go directly to Rio de Janeiro.
Viracopos Airport has a specialized team to process large loads, ensuring safety and agility. The material is stored in a controlled area, monitored 24 hours a day, with electronic surveillance and a dedicated team.
Other shows
The arrival of the equipment reinforces the Viracopos Cargo Terminal as one of the main gateways for major international events in Brazil. The TECA team specializes in processing large volumes of cargo for mega-events.
The terminal recently received equipment for concerts by Paul McCartney, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd and Linkin Park. Equipment for Madonna's concert was also processed, as well as equipment for singer Karol G.
Last year, Viracopos received the sound and lighting equipment for Lollapalooza 2024, which featured bands such as Blink 182, Hozier and Kings of Leon. In previous years, it received equipment from bands such as Aerosmith, Bon Jovi and Guns N' Roses.
