The event was attended by directors of several institutions that are part of the National System for the Development of Space Activities (SINDAE).

Shidara moderated the round table entitled “Lines of Promotion for space developments”, which brought together representatives from EMBRAPII (Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation), FINEP (Financier of Studies and Projects) and PIT.

At the opening of the debates, the president of AIAB highlighted that, currently, we are living in moments that will represent a watershed in the trajectory of the Brazilian Space Program (PEB) due to the change in some fundamental governance paradigms.

Among the points highlighted are actions to avoid the dispersal of resources and, mainly, to ensure better use of the capacity of the national space industry to carry out technological developments in partnership with ICTs, adopting good governance practices from successful space programs around the world and ensuring that the triple helix of innovation operates in a condition of greater efficiency and effectiveness.

“The recent FINEP economic subsidy notices, with resources from the FNDCT (National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development) will promote a leap in technological maturity of the Brazilian space industry”, said Shidara.

The president of AIAB discussed with the ists coordination actions between the various development institutions so that there is complementarity of investments in favor of the PEB. He also promoted discussions about initiatives to increase the use of ETEC (Technological Order), an instrument of the Legal Framework for Science, Technology and Innovation, regulated in 2018.

ETEC is one of the main tools for promoting technological development and innovation in sectors such as space, which operate at the frontier of knowledge, where technological risk is a critical factor.
