When announcing the order, Azul stated that the A330-900neo would be important to strengthen the company's international network to the United States and Europe and that it had a fuel consumption per seat 14% lower than the current model of the aircraft (the A330- 200 that the company uses).

Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, the A330neo is offered to airlines in two versions, the A330-800neo and the A330-900neo.

Rolls-Royce's Trent 7000 is the only engine available for the A330neo, with twice the by ratio of the Trent 700 powering the A330ceo, Rolls-Royce said the Trent 7000 reduces fuel consumption by up to 10%, with all the changes, the reduction should be 15% compared to the previous generation.

The A330neo is also equipped with Airbus' new Air Space interior, prepared exclusively for this new generation of A330neo.
