Airbus receives historic order for up to 120 helicopters

Airbus Helibrasil fund Saudi Arabia places order for 120 H145 and H125 helicopters

The Helicopter Company (THC), Saudi Arabia's leading commercial helicopter service provider and wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund, has signed a historic agreement with Airbus at the HAI Heli-Expo, which is being held at the Saudi Arabian Convention Center Anaheim, California.

The deal includes up to 120 Airbus helicopters of various types, to be delivered over five to seven years. Part of the agreement is an order for eight H125 and ten H145 helicopters, which are converted options from a previous contract, bringing THC's total fleet of Airbus helicopters to 60, 25 of which are already in service.

The new H125 helicopters will THC's range of services, including aviation operations and tourism, while the H145 models will be used in a variety of missions, including emergency medical services (EMS) and corporate transport.

The Helicopter Company is at the forefront of developing commercial helicopter services in Saudi Arabia, having introduced the H145 into operation for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and deployed the H145 and H125 in of the Dakar Rally. Last year, the company received its first ACH160 for tourism operations from Red Sea Global.

The world best-selling H125 has accumulated more than 40 million flight hours, with more than 5.350 helicopters currently in operation. The model, known for its robustness, versatility, power and high performance, is widely used in highly demanding missions.

The Airbus H145 is designed to deliver outstanding performance across the entire flight deck and is the latest member of the company's four-ton class twin-engine rotary-wing aircraft line-up – with capability and mission flexibility engineered into its design, especially for high and hot operating conditions. There are more than 1.675 helicopters from this family in service, recording a total of more than 7,6 million flight hours. Its particularly low acoustic footprint makes the H145 the quietest helicopter in its class.
