Under the management of ASP – Aeroportos Paulistas, the airports of São José do Rio Preto, Araçatuba and Presidente Prudente, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, are preparing for a Carnival period marked by a significant increase in enger movement. Between February 28 and March 5, the expectation is that more than 18,4 thousand travelers will through the air terminals managed by the concessionaire in 214 flights scheduled for the period, an average increase of 33,5% in relation to the flow ed by the three enterprises in the previous year, when the record was 13,8 thousand travelers.
O Eribelto Manoel Reino Airport, in Sao Jose do Rio Preto, expects to serve 11,6 thousand customers during the carnival days, a 23% increase compared to Carnival 2024, when the number of flights was 9,4 thousand. The number of flights will also increase, from 97 to 127 operations, indicating an increase of 31%. The terminal offers flights to nine airports in seven Brazilian states, operated by Azul, Gol and Latam.
Already in Araçatuba, the Dario Guarita Airport expects a 50% increase in enger flow compared to the previous year, totaling 1.563 travelers during the festive period. The enterprise will have 22 air operations, a growth of 10% compared to 2024. The airport maintains regular connections with Azul to Viracopos (SP) and Gol to Congonhas Airport (SP).
O Presidente Prudente Airport estimates the highest percentage growth among the enterprises managed by ASP, with a 57% increase in enger movement. The projection is that 5,3 thousand travelers will embark and disembark during the Carnival holiday. The total number of flights will be 12% higher, increasing from 58 to 65 operations. The terminal offers connections to five airports in three Brazilian states, operated by the country's main airlines.
According to a João Paulo Neves, ASP coordinator, the significant growth in traffic at the airports managed by the concessionaire during Carnival demonstrates the importance of the terminals for regional and national connectivity. “The increase in the number of flights and the increase in the number of engers reflect the growing demand for travel from the interior of São Paulo. Our commitment is to continue improving infrastructure and services, ensuring greater convenience and efficiency for those who embark and disembark at our airports,” he says.
