From Sunday to Tuesday (October 24-26), more than 350 C-level executives from the commercial aviation industry and government representatives will gather in Bogotá, Colombia, to conduct a high-level international dialogue to be turned into an agenda proposal with concrete actions aimed at promoting even safer, more efficient and sustainable aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The academic agenda of the ALTA Airline Leaders Forum has the participation of more than 50 speakers with extensive experience and knowledge of the industry, as well as representatives of the public sector of Colombia and the region, including the President of the Republic of Colombia, His Excellency, Mr. Iván Duque, who will make the official opening.
“The ALTA AGM (Annual General Meeting) and the ALTA Airline Leaders Forum are the most important face-to-face meetings of commercial aviation leaders in Latin America and the Caribbean, with almost 20 years of existence. The positive response and enthusiasm we received for this edition demonstrates the commitment of industry leaders to the development of a collaborative and purposeful work agenda across the entire value chain. Our region has great potential in this recovery process and together we will be able to bring opportunities to every corner and to more and more people through connectivity and air transport.”, says José Ricardo Botelho, executive director and CEO of ALTA.
Among the topics on the agenda are: the future of travel in the Americas and the Caribbean; fleet, financing and leasing needs; air cargo and its role in combating Covid-19; “Via Verde”, the path to more sustainable air transport; the best practices of international hubs; the Colombian market; and a conversation between tourism ministers on how to adapt to the changing needs of travelers and cross-regional collaboration opportunities to develop destinations together in Latin America and the Caribbean.
“This edition of the ALTA Airline Leaders Forum will be held in Colombia, a beautiful country with a mountainous geography, where it is imperative to use air transport to travel safely and efficiently. A few weeks ago, ALTA visited airlines that operate in the country and industry authorities to develop a very positive agenda that generates benefits for s and the population. ALTA wants to promote t work to develop an essential service for the population”, added Botelho.
ALTA is a pioneer in the resumption of face-to-face events. In December 2020, it held a technical event (ALTA CCMA & MRO Conference), with the participation of 200 people in Mexico and zero infections. And later, in August 2021, in the Dominican Republic, with the participation of 500 people and no infections.
Now ALTA will land in Bogotá to bring aviation decision makers together in yet another successful event with objective discussions and a collaborative work agenda.
