Jhon said that airports should share the costs with airlines for this type of occurrence. Jhon said that he observes the accumulation of garbage dumps around some airports, which attracts an above-normal number of birds.

On his social network on Friday (February 21) Jerome Cadier spoke about the subject:

“Bird strikes are not rare. In 2024, in Latam Brazil there were 562 incidents (1.5 incidents per day), some more serious and others less serious. Landings were always safe.

In all cases, we analyzed the severity and necessary repairs. In total, the aircraft involved were grounded for more than 750 hours and we impacted more than 30 thousand engers with cancellations and delays.”
