Azul Viagens, a tour operator owned by Azul Linhas Aéreas, began Nordestur in January, a series of strategic meetings with authorities and businesspeople from several cities in northeastern Brazil. This Tuesday (6), the company met in Maceió to promote the destination, which already presents a 108% growth in supply of seats for the low season of the 1st semester (between February and June) of 2024, compared to 2023, ing for a total of 124.565 seats in the period.
Giuliana Mesquita, senior product manager at Azul Viagens, recalled that Maceió is an already established destination in Brazil with an excellent structure to serve Customers, both in of hotels and leisure options. “As a tourist destination, the city of Maceió was the first to close the year 2023 in of revenue. In the capital, it is possible to enjoy the coast and visit quality urban beaches. When we think about exploring the state, it is possible to visit the coral coast and enjoy paradisiacal places. It is also important to that the state serves a diverse audience, has all-inclusive hotels and intimate inns. It offers rest and lively parties,” she said.
The manager reinforces that Maceió's growth was possible through integrated work with the trade, which has always ed the company and worked together to mature the routes that Azul offers. For the high season period, the city will receive Customers from five new origins: Foz do Iguaçu (PR), Presidente Prudente, Araçatuba, Bauru and Uberaba
In addition to the new origins, Maceió receives an increase in supply in Campinas and Belo Horizonte. Currently, the destination has dedicated flights from Campinas, Confins, São Paulo Capital (CGH), Goiânia, Recife, Ribeirão Preto, São José do Rio Preto, Uberlândia, Cuiabá and Rio de Janeiro via Galeão.
According to the Secretary of State for Tourism of Alagoas, Bárbara Braga, the 23/24 season has already established itself as the biggest high season in the state, and the objective now is to seek this consolidation for the low season as well. “The increase in flights dedicated to the low season by Azul Viagens reflects all the work that the Government of Alagoas has been developing in the state’s tourism sector. Of the 27 flights dedicated to the 23/24 high season, 17 will remain operating during the months between February and June 2024, this achievement maintains the consolidation of Destination Alagoas as a tourist preference for our visitors. This entire achievement represents the expansion of tourism in Alagoas, with the strengthening of the tourist infrastructure, the partnership with trade, resulting in the generation of jobs and income throughout the year, reaffirming tourism as an important tool for social transformation”, he concluded.
