Azul Viagens, the Azul Tourism, launched yesterday, January 24th, in partnership with the Government of Paraíba, the first itinerary of the “Pelo Céu Azul” project, an initiative by the operator that aims to develop new destinations in Brazil in addition to the major Brazilian capitals. “Paraíbe-se” is the itinerary that kicks off this unprecedented project by the operator, announced today at a press conference in the city of Campina Grande, 126km from João Pessoa.

Through the Blue Sky

“For the Blue Sky” will have the main objective of helping interested States and municipalities to develop regional tourism, helping businesspeople and empowering communities to build tourist facilities that make sense for the needs of Customers. With the formatting of the itinerary completed, it will now be made available for sale within the Azul Viagens portfolio.

According to Giulliana Mesquita, senior product manager at Azul Viagens, the development and promotion of new destinations will be one of the operator's main pillars for the coming years.

According to Giulliana, “Paraibe-se” is just the beginning of work that will be done throughout Brazil. “We chose the interior of Paraíba as our first project, not only because of the partnership we have with the State and the entire tourist trade, but also because of the incredible product we found. The itinerary is a cultural and gastronomic immersion through the interior of the Northeast, in addition to having different equipment than what we have in Brazil. And this is precisely what our Customers have valued when deciding on a new trip: unique experiences with a great delivery of quality of service”

Itinerary and strategies for attracting tourists

During the immersion, the Azul Viagens team evaluated the seven essential pillars that form the basis of all tourism development projects: infrastructure, tourist equipment, accommodation, air or land connection, complementary chain, itinerary and promotion. Thus, each of the stages was mapped by a multidisciplinary team representing the following organizations: Azul Viagens (Tourist Operator), Government of the State of Paraíba, Luck Receptivo, Sebrae, as well as the of all municipalities involved in the project.

In this sense, Sebrae, according to Giulliana, played a fundamental role in the conception, elaboration and finalization of the script. Through training meetings, communities were educated regarding the perception of entrepreneurship and their role in interacting with tourists and promoting local culture.

“We mapped out all the opportunities related to signage, accessibility and safety with the Paraíba State Secretariat. In addition to all the work that was done in relation to organization and community engagement for the script”, explains the manager.

“Paraíbe”

Currently, the integrated itinerary is based in the city of Campina Grande, which is already known for hosting the Biggest São João in the World. From there, Customers can explore nearby places, such as Cabeceiras, where the so-called Roliúde Nordestina is located. Also on the route are the Lajedos, rock formations of Paraíba's Cariri.

This way, it is also possible to visit the charming city of Areia, located in Brejo and which has an incredible cachaça route. Heading to Bananeiras, known as Serra Paraibana, it is possible to visit Lajedo Preto and taste excellent cuisine. Finally, the arrival in Araruna already includes the contemplation of Pedra da Boca.

Blue in Paraíba

A BLUE has been collaborating with the government of Paraíba since last year to boost tourism in the region, through a strong movement to expand the air network in the State. So, last year, the company added hundreds of flights in Campina Grande in June, the time of greatest flow of Customers in the region, due to the June festivities. In short, the difference is that, now, instead of a temporary network to cover the period, Azul has invested in a fixed network and in the future of local tourism.
