Azul and Brazilian Air Force sign cooperation agreement for talent pool

Azul signed a technical cooperation agreement on Monday (23) as part of the Air Force's “Talent Bank” Program. The event took place at the Air Force Space, on the Esplanada dos Ministérios, and was attended by the CEO, John Rodgerson, and the Director of Institutional Relations, Fabio Campos, both from Azul, the Minister of Defense, José Múcio Monteiro, the Air Force Commander, Lieutenant-Brigadier Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, as well as other civil and military authorities.

The program aims to integrate former of the Brazilian Air Force into the corporate sector, based on a mutual talent pool. Professionals who sign up may be called to participate in selection processes carried out by the airline. By the end of December, 300 new opportunities are expected in various areas and business units of Azul, both at the headquarters in Barueri and in technical positions, such as in maintenance hangars.     

For Azul CEO John Rodgerson, this program is of fundamental importance to the company. “We have always had positive experiences when hiring professionals from the Armed Forces. That is why we decided to institutionalize this program to provide more career opportunities for these military personnel. I congratulate the Brazilian Air Force for creating the talent pool and we are happy to be the first company to sign the cooperation agreement.”     

Defense Minister José Múcio Monteiro stated that he intends to expand the initiative. “We want to spread the seed of this project and encourage the military to serve Brazil better. With this type of initiative, we show that it is worth striving to be good and that in the future, they will have a horizon of action, the of the Armed Forces and the welcome of responsible private initiative.”     

The Air Force Commander highlighted that the partnership aims, among other things, to stimulate the representative recruitment, from all social classes, of qualified personnel to form the Brazilian Air Force's cadre of specialized technical professionals. "In addition, these same professionals, at the end of their service in the Force, still represent a productive, engaged workforce capable of contributing their knowledge and experience to any national and international company," said the General Officer.      

Growth at Azul  

Between January and September, Azul invested in careers and hired new Crew , as everyone who works at the company is called. During the period, 991 internal promotions were carried out and 1.413 new professionals were hired.     

In addition, the company is seeking to attract new talent by launching another edition of the Internship Program, aimed at higher education students from various courses, such as istration, Aeronautical Sciences, ing, Law, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Marketing and Advertising, Pedagogy, Psychology, Information Technology, among others. To participate, candidates must be over 18 years old, have an intermediate level of English and be available to work in person. The internship lasts two years, with a workload of 6 hours per day, and those selected will work in different strategic areas of the company.
