“Crew, prepare for takeoff.” This phrase, which is part of the crew’s communication before each flight, was said exactly 26.607 times in October, the month in which Azul transported the most Customers in its 15 years of operation. In the tenth month of the year, the Company broke a historic record by boarding 2.753.435 engers to 149 destinations, on these more than 26 thousand flights, with an average of 858 daily operations.
The number of Customers in October was 13,2% higher than the monthly average for this year, when Azul transported 24,3 million Customers from January to October; and 18,5% higher than October last year, when 2,3 million people boarded the Company's aircraft, according to data from ANAC. Flight occupancy in the last month also exceeded the other months of the year, reaching 85%, while the monthly average for this year is around 80%, in ten months.
“The historic record achieved in October consolidates Azul’s strength and represents the trust and recognition of our customers in the quality of our service. These figures are the result of the sustainable expansion path we are building, and are in line with the trust of our partners and the market,” says John Rodgerson, CEO of Azul.
Last week, Azul announced the conclusion of an agreement with its aircraft lessors and an agreement with existing bondholders, securing additional financing of up to US$500 million, strengthening its balance sheet and cash position.
Azul expects to further increase the number of transported customers with the arrival of eight more aircraft later this year. As a result, the number of seats should grow by 15% in the last quarter of 2024. During the high season, the Company will offer 3.048 additional flights between December 16, 2024 and February 2, 2025. In total, between regular, additional and dedicated Azul Viagens flights, Azul will have 43,3 flights during the summer season, including new international flights.
