Azul will have 284 additional flights during the high summer season to Maceió (AL), one of the main tourist destinations in the Northeast. In total, the Company will offer 225 thousand seats on flights arriving and departing from the capital of Alagoas, which represents an increase of 37%, between December 16 and February 2.
The additional flights will depart from 17 locations in all regions of the country, with the majority departing from Congonhas (SP), Recife (PE), Confins (MG) and Viracopos (SP), the latter two being Azul's largest hubs, allowing connections to more than 50 destinations/origins. In total, there will be more than 800 flights to the capital of the state of Alagoas during the period, considering the additional and regular flights.
The flights are operated with Airbus A320, Embraer 195 and ATR aircraft, depending on the route. During the period of increase, the Company will make available, in total, 3.048 extra flights, 12% more than in the previous year, when 2.705 extra flights were operated. In total, between regular, extra and dedicated flights of Azul Viagens, Azul will have 43,3 thousand flights, including new international flights.
“This increase will be very important to meet demand, offer new route possibilities and direct connections, and is essential to ensure that prices remain affordable even with high demand. We will have a total supply of around 460 more seats during the high season compared to last summer,” highlighted Vitor Silva, Azul’s general manager of Network, Strategic Planning and Alliances.
