Azul celebrates, this Saturday, four years of operation of its Hangar in V. During this period, the space established itself as a reference in maintenance with a production capacity approaching 45 thousand hours per month.

Since opening, 104 heavy checks have been carried out, which are highly complex maintenance tasks, in addition to 469 special stops and minor checks, carried out 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  

To keep the structure in operation, the Hangar at V employs 650 Crew , as all professionals who work at Azul are called. Of these, 430 work directly in aircraft maintenance, while the rest are part of teams, including Infrastructure, Security, Publications, GSE, Tooling, Warehouse, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Workplace Safety, Sustainability, Redelivery, Engineering and Planning.

In addition to maintenance activities, the complex has a maneuvering yard, aircraft fueling and washing areas, and 13 specialized workshops, including those for engines, batteries, oxygen and emergency equipment, developed over these four years. During this period, more than 13.627 wheels and 1209 brakes were released from the wheel and brake workshop.

The V Hangar has become an innovation center, where new ideas generated by the Crew are structured for subsequent implementation.

The celebration takes place one week after Azul TecOps, Azul's business unit created in April 2023 to provide maintenance services to other companies, obtained certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to serve European Union companies in maintenance services. maintenance of aircraft and components. The approval, which is valid for 2 years with the possibility of renewal, reinforces Azul's operational knowledge and technical know-how, especially in the Campinas hangar.
