Azul began its regular operations today between Campinas (SP), its main hub, and Asunción, in Paraguay. This was the company’s first flight to the Paraguayan capital, which becomes Azul’s 8th international base. Operated with Embraer E2 aircraft, with capacity for 136 customers, the new route connects Asunción to more than 70 destinations in Brazil, expanding tourism and business opportunities between the two countries.
Flights between Campinas and Asunción will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, until February. From March 2025, the frequency will be increased to four times a week. Aircraft will depart Campinas at 9:11 a.m., with arrival in Asunción scheduled for 12:15 a.m. In the opposite direction, flights will depart from the Paraguayan capital at 14:15 p.m., landing in Campinas at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
The choice of Asunción as a new international base reflects Azul’s strategy to strengthen its network in South America and attract Paraguayan tourists to Brazil. According to Vitor Silva, Azul’s General Manager of Network, Strategic Planning and Alliances, the connectivity offered by the hub in Campinas is a differentiator. “Asunción is a strategic destination for Azul, as it connects the Paraguayan capital to our main hub in Campinas, which offers access to a wide network of destinations in Brazil. During the high season, Customers will have daily flights between Asunción and Brazil, with regular operations not only via Campinas, but also via Curitiba, Florianópolis and Recife,” he highlights.
New Azul Viagens store in Paraguay
As part of the new developments, Azul Viagens, the company's tour operator, also opened its 124th store today, its second international unit – the first is located in the United States. Located on Guido Bogiani Avenue, in the Villa Morra neighborhood of Asunción, the new unit offers personalized packages for Paraguayan tourists interested in exploring Brazilian destinations, from the beaches of the Northeast to the major urban centers.
“The opening of the store in Asunción is a milestone for Azul Viagens. We want to offer Paraguayan customers a complete experience, with packages that connect them to the countless beauties of Brazil. This initiative strengthens our position as a reference in the market and encourages cultural and economic exchange between the two countries,” highlighted Ricardo Bezerra, commercial manager of Azul Viagens.
