Azul pilots and flight attendants visit children undergoing cancer treatment

Children undergoing cancer treatment at Hospital da Baleia in Belo Horizonte received a special visit from seven Azul pilots and flight attendants. The crew wore uniforms and spoke about what it's like to be a pilot and flight attendant. The event is part of the Voando Alto program, which promotes fun activities, workshops and recreational moments with the aim of providing joy and inspiration during treatment.

The initiative relies on the voluntary participation of Azul Crew , who share their personal experiences and encourage studies, helping to awaken dreams in patient children.

“This partnership is very important for us to have a moment of relaxation with the children. It is a time to play, a time to bring smiles back, to contribute, in fact, to a lighter environment. That is why it is a very special moment to be together with the Azul Crew”, said Camila Alkmin, nursing coordinator at Hospital da Baleia.

Created in 2021, the Voando Alto program has already benefited more than a thousand children and adolescents in different regions of the country. In 2024, the project entered into a new partnership with Hospital da Baleia, a reference in pediatric oncology in Minas Gerais. Since the beginning of the collaboration, four t actions have been carried out, with the participation of 35 volunteers from the Crew and more than 100 children served.

One of the highlights was the visit to Azul's maintenance hangar, located in Pampulha, Belo Horizonte, where the children were able to see the aircraft up close and experience an immersion in the world of aviation.

Three more actions are planned in partnership with the hospital by the end of the year, including a new visit to the hangar. The expectation is to continue promoting experiences that delight and inspire, reaffirming Azul's commitment to social transformation.
