Azul, the largest airline in of daily flights and destinations served in Brazil, celebrates the resumption of flights between Fortaleza and Juazeiro do Norte, in Ceará. The city located in the Cariri region and 497 km from the capital has a dynamic economy. It is the largest in the interior of the State, in addition to being considered a center of religious pilgrimage in Brazil due to the figure of Padre Cícero, which promotes a high flow of tourists throughout the year.
From the capital to Juazeiro, Azul will have daily flights, except on Sundays, taking off from Pinto Martins Airport at 4:30 am. In the opposite direction, departures take place every day, except Saturdays, at 23:55. Flights are already on sale on Azul's official channels.
“We are very excited about the resumption of the route between Fortaleza and Juazeiro do Norte. With this link, Juazeiro will be able to attract an even greater flow of tourists and quickly connect with other destinations in Brazil and the world. Azul invests in a fleet capable of serving a diverse network, as we know how to expand the offer of flights and contribute to the economic and social development of municipalities”, says César Grandolfo, Azul's Institutional Relations manager.

The resumption of flights in the region is part of an effort by Deputy José Guimarães, who has been dedicating himself to increasing air connectivity in the State, recognizing the social development that aviation can bring to the region.
“This is the first step of a partnership that is being signed between Azul and the government of Ceará. Certainly, with the progress of the conversations, we hope to be able to have a lot of news and many new flights for all the people of Ceará, who have always welcomed Azul so well”, complements Grandolfo.
In addition to being important for local development, the availability of flights should benefit cities in other states that border Ceará, such as Pernambuco and Piauí.
“I consider what is happening here to be very important. When I went to make our speech in the Assembly, I said that we were keeping an eye on the situation with flights to Juazeiro do Norte. So here I want to highlight that we are stronger when we work together.”, pointed out the governor, who made a point of highlighting the importance of Deputy José Guimarães in the negotiations for this resumption.
For the Secretary of Tourism, Yrwana Albuquerque, the resumption of Azul's daily flight represents an important step for regional development and tourism in Ceará.
“This is the beginning, just a first step in an important process of moving tourism to the interior, because our mountains and sertões are no less important”.
“Everyone knows that I have a great affection for Cariri, and to make it work I called everyone, mayor, deputy and governor. There is a team here, because even with immense responsibilities, we do not forget Ceará and the common goals”, highlighted Deputy José Guimarães, an important figure in the articulation for the resumption of flights.
