Azul starts offering payment for air tickets with FGTS

Azul announces the launch of 'FGTS Anniversary Withdrawal Payment in Advance', in partnership with Banco Digio (Bradesco's digital bank), an initiative that allows Customers to use the balance of the Service Time Guarantee Fund for the payment of airline tickets, directly in the company's application.

 

To use this payment method, the Customer must adhere to the Birthday Withdrawal modality through the FGTS application provided by Caixa Econômica Federal. In the same app, the Customer must authorize Banco Digio, which is the partnership's financial intermediary, to access the FGTS balance information. The payment request will be evaluated and subsequently authorized by Caixa after consultation.

 

After requesting payment with FGTS, the analysis process can take up to 24 hours to be completed by Caixa Econômica Federal. The Customer will be informed by email about the status of the analysis, and will be able to check the progress of the process in the “My Trips” section of the Azul application. If payment with FGTS is refused by Caixa, the Customer will have 12 hours to make the purchase using another method available at Azul, such as a credit card or Pix. After this period, the reservation will be cancelled. If the Customer wishes to cancel, they must the Azul Customer Service Center within 24 hours of the purchase, so that fees and fines are not applied in accordance with the company's tariff policy.

For André Fonseca, Finance and Operations executive at Banco Digio, the partnership is a way to further expand the product's operations. “Putting the FGTS Birthday Withdrawal in Advance as an option to pay for something as important and desired as traveling is a way of increasingly expanding our presence in Brazilians’ daily lives”, he comments.

 

The payment option will be available exclusively through the Azul app and the implementation of this new functionality will work for all Customers using IOS and Android. For more information and detailed instructions on how to use FGTS to pay for airline tickets at Azul, Customers can access
