Azul began, today (16), flights on the route connecting BH Airport, in Confins, to the city of Manhuaçu, in the forest area of Minas Gerais. The operation will be carried out by Azul Conecta, responsible for the company's regional flights.
Tickets are now on sale via the Azul website. Flights, on Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft, are frequent four times a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Departures from BH Airport take place at 12:15 pm, with an estimated landing at 13:20 pm, at Santo Amaro de Minas Regional Airport, in Manhuaçu. In the opposite direction, takeoffs take place at 13:45 pm, with arrival scheduled for 14:50 pm at BH Airport.
The city of Manhuaçu has 90 thousand inhabitants, according to the latest IBGE census. Founded in 1877, its name comes from Tupi and means “big river” or “place of lots of water”. The region is highly valued in Minas Gerais, being considered the coffee capital of Eastern Minas Gerais, with the presence of Castelo do Café, the only one in the world dedicated to the drink. It is also located less than 50 kilometers from Pico da Bandeira, the third highest point in the country.
