Azul starts selling new flights today connecting Belém to Ourilândia do Norte and Carajás, in the southeast of the state. Operations begin on June 10, with three weekly flights, the first time that Ourilândia receives commercial flights.
Circular flights take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, leaving Belém and going to Carajás airport, in the municipality of Parauapebas. After the stop, it continues to its final destination, in Ourilândia do Norte, located 940 km from the capital. Announced in February, during an event under the Ministry of Tourism's “Get to Know Brazil Flying” program, the new route will be operated by Azul Conecta with Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft, with capacity to transport up to 9 Customers.
“By promoting regional aviation in the north of the country, Azul continues with the mission of bringing sustainable development to the Amazon region, where we already have a strong presence and are leaders in the sector. This flight will be very important for the state’s connectivity and the city’s growth”, says Vitor Silva, general manager of Planning and Strategy at Azul.
Those who visit Ourilândia do Norte can discover the natural beauty, explore the region's waterfalls and discover the Caiteté National Environmental Park, with trails full of excitement and lots of nature. The city is known for mining and livestock production, which drive the city's economy.
Sales are now available on the Azul website, at the Sales Center or through partner travel agencies.
Expansion of Azul’s operations in Pará
In March, the company increased the frequency of flights between Belém and Fort Lauderdale to six times, which became daily in April. Furthermore, in May, Azul will begin three daily flights between Guarulhos Airport, in São Paulo, and Belém. This expansion will be essential to increase the state's connectivity, connecting the people of Pará to many more national and international destinations.
