In total, the company will offer approximately 4.900 weekly seats, including arrivals and departures. “Throughout this period of adjustments to the airfield runway, Azul spared no effort to guarantee its operations on the island, which has a historic and very close presence, to residents, workers and tourists. There were countless additional, cargo, emergency and charter flights that boosted the island's economy, as well as the transit of people to the mainland,” says Vitor Silva, Azul's general manager of Strategic Planning, Network and Alliances.

“For Azul, the return of jet aircraft operations represents an important step forward and will contribute, above all, to the island’s tourism and economic development due to the greater enger and cargo capacity,” says Vitor Silva.

The resumption of jet operations will allow the company to operate flights to destinations other than Recife in the near future. “It is important to highlight that Azul may eventually resume operating flights from Campinas during the high summer season, expanding access to tourists and also strengthening the local and regional economy,” added the manager.
