With GOL advancing in its restructuring via judicial recovery in the United States (Chapter 11), Azul would be willing to dialogue with the company for a possible merger between the companies, this is what the Valor Econômico Portal.
In an article published last Thursday (11), Azul would be talking to GOL in order to attempt an acquisition and that sources close to the matter claim that the best path would be a possible merger between the companies. Despite speculation, a possible merger between the companies would have to be approved by CADE (istrative Council for Economic Defense).
In a statement, Azul denies that it has entered into any negotiations with GOL, pledging to keep its shareholders and the market in general informed about any progress on the matter.

"Azul, aware of its fiduciary responsibility, is always attentive to the strategic dynamics of the airline sector and possible partnership opportunities, and as a regular practice may hire consultants to the company in these efforts. To date, Azul has not negotiated or approved any specific transaction. Azul is committed to maintaining shareholders and the market in generall, informed of any significant developments related to this matter."
GOL has not yet commented on the matter so far.
