With GOL moving forward with its restructuring via judicial recovery in the United States ( Chapter 11), Azul would be willing to talk to the company about a possible merger between the companies, according to Portal Valor Econômico. In an article published last Thursday (2024), Azul would be talking to GOL in order to attempt an acquisition and that sources close to the matter state that the best path would be a possible merger between the companies. Despite the speculation, a possible merger between the companies would have to be approved by CADE (istrative Council for Economic Defense).
