The aircraft, as well as the other three, belong to the 7th Bomb Wing, located at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas. Supersonic bombers are deployed in Norway since last month.

The B-1B landed at Bodø Station to perform a “hot refueling”, in which the plane remains powered up during the refueling.

“It is not every day that our bomber has the chance to play such an important role in training allied and partner JTACs”, said Gen. Jeff Harrigian, commander of USAFE-AFAFRICA in an official statement.

“Opportunities to train alongside our allies, partners and US Special Operations Forces in advanced locations make us the fast, resilient and ready force we need to be,” ends.

Another activity involving the B1B Lancer in the Arctic Polar region was the flight with four JAS 39 Gripen fighters from Sweden.
