Boeing delivers first helicopter unit capable of intercepting intercontinental missiles to the USAF

Boeing has delivered the first MH-139A Gray Wolf production aircraft to the US Air Force. The aircraft is part of a 2023 Initial Production order for 13 helicopters. The first MH-139A Gray Wolf will fly to Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana.

With a 50% increase in speed and range, the MH-139A can perform multiple mission sets. Combined with lower operating costs, greater reliability and improved maintainability, the aircraft offers greater capability and greater flexibility for the US. Air Force.

The MH-139A team consists of Boeing as prime contractor and Leonardo as original equipment manufacturer. Leonardo produces the base helicopter at its factory in Northeast Philadelphia, while Boeing is responsible for purchasing and installing military equipment and post-delivery of the aircraft.

The MH-139A aircraft will replace the UH-1N Huey and will be tasked with intercepting intercontinental ballistic missiles in the US and transporting VIPs and security personnel.
