The Ministry of Ports and Airports began, this Tuesday (26), a series of roadshows to present to concessionaires of privatized airports the details of the auction of 51 regional terminals in Brazil.
The auction notice is expected to be released in early February, with the auction scheduled to take place in May. In total, 89 terminals will be offered, in addition to 13 that will be built by the private sector, totaling 102 terminals in the National Aviation Plan (PAN). The total estimated investment for the project is R$7,3 billion over three years.
The program arose from a decision by the Court of Auditors (TCU), which authorized the winners to discount investments in current contracts, in the form of financial and economic rebalancing.
According to the Civil Aviation Secretariat (SAC), the concession will be granted to the block that offers the lowest discount in relation to an established price ceiling. It is important to note that 16 airports managed by Infraero will not participate in the auction, as well as the terminals already granted to states and municipalities and those that are under construction.
All current concessionaires will be able to participate in the competition, with the exception of companies undergoing a re-bidding process, such as Viracopos and Galeão, if they do not continue with the concession.
