It will take place on November 23rd and 24th, at Hangar 1 of Campo de Marte Airport. Classic Car Meeting and Exhibition. Those who attend the event will be able to delve into history and get up close to military vehicles that were involved in the Second World War, which spans eight decades, as well as those that were used in the Vietnam War and the Gulf War, in a part of the exhibition that is fully contextualized and focused on this theme.
Angelo Meliani, responsible for the military vehicle exhibition, highlights that some vehicles will display special features related to the times in which they were used. “We will have cars from the Second World War and we will show models from the 40s to the 90s,” he comments. “In addition to the jeeps from the Second World War, there will be one that pays homage to the first squadron of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) and a Land Rover that participated in the Iran and Iraq Wars, used to tow helicopters,” he adds, citing these pieces as highlights.
He emphasizes that the collection includes privately owned vehicles and highlights the presence of a F-5 Tiger, a tactical air defense and ground attack fighter, which will enrich the event experience. Because these are historical pieces, there will be no performances or public interaction with the cars, and this area of the exhibition will be isolated from the rest of the exhibit.
Antique Car Culture
Organized by Relicário Autos Antigos, which also promotes the Brazilian Antique Car Meeting (EBAA) in Águas de Lindóia, the largest event of its kind in Latin America, and held by the Rotary Club of São Paulo Norte with the of the Rotary Foundation, the event is free and promotes the Antique Car Culture. The expectation is to attract 20 thousand visitors during the weekend, bringing together a total of 1.500 antique cars.
Collectors, antique car clubs, dealers in the sector, restorers and people looking for parts to restore their old vehicles are also expected to attend. Among the attractions, the public will be able to enjoy an exhibition of antique cars, classic cars, trucks, pick-ups and hot rods. The event will also feature a Parts Fair, antiques and vintage items, as well as an area dedicated to antique car clubs and vehicles for sale. There will also be companies specializing in the restoration and sale of automobiles, a diverse food court with food trucks and live shows.
Social responsibility
The Campo de Marte Classic Car Show is a charity event in of The Rotary Foundation, an international institution dedicated to social action around the world. The proceeds will go to sustainable initiatives promoted by the foundation's 35 clubs, which include reducing the incidence of polio by 99% worldwide, training peacemakers, increasing access to clean water, and ing the economic development of several communities.
