Dassault Aviation will open a new company-owned service center at the recently opened Catarina Executive International Airport in São Paulo.
The center will replace Dassault's current facilities in Sorocaba. Scheduled to open in early 2024, the Catarina facility will offer around 3600 square meters of usable space and offices and accommodate up to five Falcon aircraft at the same time. It will be large enough for the new ultra-long-range Falcon 10X currently in development.
The Dassault Falcon Jet Catarina will be capable of performing line maintenance up to 'B' level checks for Brazilian-ed Falcons from the Falcon 7X and Falcon 2000 family, as well as a Pre-Purchase Assessment (PPE) program for customers intending to purchase a Falcon used. PPE operations include a complete physical assessment of the aircraft, operational systems checks, and a detailed records search.
The new facility will be certified as a Repair Station by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) of Brazil, the FAA and EASA, as well as the airworthiness authorities of Argentina, Bermuda and Uruguay. The company will be authorized to perform line maintenance and most major inspections on Falcon 50, 900 and 2000 series models, as well as the Falcon 7X and 8X.
In addition to inspections and assistance to the structure, the facilities will be qualified to carry out line maintenance on the engines of the CFE-738, Honeywell TFE731 and Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307A, PW307D and PW308C models. It will also carry out specialized non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures, such as penetration and eddy current tests. A full-service battery shop will be available to repair, replace or charge main and emergency batteries for the Falcon or other aircraft models.
The location will continue to an AOG “ Team,” trained to provide a rapid mobile response directly to any aircraft in South America, along with the parts and tools needed to get a Falcon back in the air with minimal delay.
A short distance from São Paulo, Catarina Executive Airport is Brazil's first international airport dedicated to executive aviation. The airport's 2.470-meter-long runway is equipped for instrument approaches.
